Filiming the House Scenes
Today, we used Salimah's house for filming
We began by filim shots of our main protagonist Ayesha in a bed, where she is tossling and turn, as she is experiencing this nightmare. We tried to take several shots, from different angle, to collect material which would be used for the montage of the dream.
Later, we filmed the morning scene, where Ayesha is getting ready for College, before she hears knocking sounds. This scene helps emphasise the paranoia the character is feeling. We tried to vary our shots by producing a few long shots of Ayesha running down the stairs.
However, we had to shorten the scene down due to shortage of time. This missed out the intended conversation the charcater was to have with her friend (who enters the into the frame briefly). I feel that this took quite a bit away from the film, as the audience fail to hear from the character's voice what she is feeling. However, we aim to try and show this through less overt means.

More Filming
Today, we began filming a part of the morning scene, where the main character, played by Ayesha was getting ready for college. We filmed the scene in the PE changing rooms where we were using the sink and mirror for the scene.
Afterward, we used the TV studio to shoot small cut of the scene where the ghostly figure creeps up on our main protagonist, whilst she's asleep dreaming. We tried to create a dim lighting to mske sure the scene is clear

Filming - Early Scenes
At 1:30pm the two actresses (who are playing the main two roles) got their outfits and make up sorted, before we headed to the scene location to film the early scenes. This location was too far away from our college, where we were using the small park and the roadside pavements surrounding it.
There was a little bit improvisation from me for the first planned shot, where I decided that it would look great, if we were to produce a panning shot, firstly starting from the sunshine that happened to be in the sky that day, sliding towards the roadside pavement, where the main character (Actress Ayesha) was to be walking. I felt this would help enhance the idea of bright lighting to create the contrasting effects from the Ayesha's dark clothing
Afterwards, we went onto record, this scene, and the whole sequence of this scene, through several different angles and distances, to create opportunities to capture the moment in different ways
Subsequently, we undertook the opportunity to film the dream-like scene inside the park, where actress Jahannara (who is playing the ghostly figure) entered the frame. We felt she portrayed the character brilliantly - she didn't need to do much, but perfectly suited our vision of the character. We tried to creatively use the space we had in the location, and attained various footage, to allow us te opportunity to arrange a monatage together.
Delay in Filming
Over the last 3 weeks we have had difficulty in starting our filming due to various problems we have encountered.
Over the half term holidays, we planned to use one whole day to start filming. However, during that incident we had problems trying to use the camera. Firstly, we couldn't find the camera. Once we did, we found that it had no charge, and after that, we couldn't find the right memory cards to get it working.
During our next planned date, we realised that both of us had appointments to visit a university and were unable to carry out the filming process.
And the next session was cancelled after the only camera we had booked was used by another class.
We have also had to fit our filming timetable around the availability of our actresses as well as our selves. So it has come about, that we have had to start filming today.
To prevent these issues, I think we will have had to plan the filming schedule better, without it clashing with other dates. In addition, I think we should have to be more planned in knowing how the camera works, and making sure we are aware of the whereabouts of the camera.
Narrative Theories - Opening Scene
In our opening scene, there is an establishing shot of the location, with particularly bright lighting. This helps create a warm feeling and glowing feel, symbolizing a dream - however the audience will probably not be aware of it at the time, as it will all be located in a neutral outdoor setting.
This is in contrast to the black clothing our main character is going to wear, as well as the quiet, eerie non-diegetic sound. This creates a bit of mystery, and suggests that all is not as it seems. Therefore, our film follows an Enigma Narrative
We believe that the film follows onto go against the audience expectation, as it eventually becomes clear that this scene is part of a dream; not only a dream, but a nightmare
